Rose approaches every aspect of this book with full force; forming realistic characters that face heavy issues that other authors either avoid or gloss over, but also giving the military-esque setting so much depth while still not alienating readers who have no knowledge of such things past the GI Joe cartoon (me).
As engrossing as the plot was, this book is very character driven, something that I always love, and Rose's bravery in details and the characters's depth and likeability makes this one of the books you'll compare others to when they fall short of being real.
I’m a little jaded when it comes to romance *cough* but this book...Well, in Whoville they say that the Christy's small heart grew three sizes that day.
