One of the most honest books I've read. Realistic characters are one thing, but people in Brodey's book seem to bare themselves of their own accord.
I have little in my life that is relatable to the issues in this story but as I read it, I felt as if I was going through them with Frankie and Callie. In reflection, it's so apparent that Brodey gets the essential needs and the primal reactions that humans have and that although I was reading about love and friendship and family I was really just reading about how our relationships define us and our self image.
I can't praise this author enough.
